The Cadillac V16, also known as the Cadillac Sixteen, was Cadillac's top-of-the-line car from its January 1930 launch until production ceased in 1940. It was the first V16-powered car to reach production status in the United States.

Built to each customer's individual taste, and with a hefty price tag of $6,650, it became an American icon of prestige, and helped the company out-perform Packard's V12.

Cadillac wanted the engine to be as vibration-free as possible. Eight combustion cycles per crankshaft revolution, combined with balanced internals, made the V16 one of the best available packages. The 1930 Cadillac V16 introduced the overhead-valve, 452-cubic inch engine. The engine produced 165 horsepower and 320 foot-pounds of torque.

Only 4,076 cars were built during the 11 years the model was offered. The V16 had a longer production run than any other car with more than eight cylinders

Of all the luxury automobiles produced during the Depression era, none could rival the combination of style and power embodied by this 16-cylinder, 6,000 pound Cadillac. A masterpiece of design and engineering, the 1930 Cadillac V16 is still one of the most desirable Cadillacs to this day.
