Considered one of the most popular of its breed, the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 epitomized the muscle car era. Its 454-cubic inch, 7.4-liter engine made it a legend, pushing the limit of muscle car power. This vehicle could race from zero-to-sixty in just over 6 seconds.
The 454 Chevelle was introduced with new cowl-induction hoods, which had a rear-facing flapper near the base of the windshield to feed air into the engine. Its strikingly bold redesign exterior, which featured a new rippling fender bulge, gave the SS 454 a well-defined muscular figure. A unique black rubber pad fastened between the newly designed rectangular taillights featured a white pinstripe and SS logo. It also featured a "vee" front end, hood pins, and five-spoke rally rims.
It is still the highest output production car to date, and one of the most collectible muscle cars of all time. The handsome 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 had a base price of $3,800.
