The standard 1969 Dodge Hemi Coronet RT featured a 440-cubic inch V-8 engine, but was also available with the legendary 426-cubic inch Hemi. With this 390 horsepower engine, it could go from zero to 60 in 6.6 seconds. While the 440 was more practical to drive, it's the Hemi version that has captured the attention of collectors worldwide.
The first RT, which stands for "road and track," was a high performance version of the 1967 Coronet. Models were offered in 1967, 1968, 1969, and ended in 1970. During this time, Hemi and 440 Magnum-powered RTs ruled the street and the drag strip.
Despite its impressive performance, its sales never took off. Due to falling sales, fewer than 7,240 examples were produced in 1969.
Although production of the Coronet RT ended by 1970, it was used as the basis for the Dodge Super Bee, a limited-production muscle car produced from 1968 - 1971.
The 1969 Dodge Hemi Coronet RT had a base price of $3,442.
