The 1970 Dodge Super Bee charged onto the scene with a radical nose design and exciting new color options like "Plum Crazy" and "Panther Pink." It got its name from the twin stripe pattern on its tail. Its front-end design consisted of a twin-looped front bumper that Dodge Public Relations referred to as "bumblebee wings." It sported a die cast chrome-plated medallion featuring a bumblebee wearing a crash helmet.
Three engine options were available: the base 383 Magnum, the 440 Six-Pack, or the 426 Hemi. Only 42 examples of the 1970 Hemi production cars are known, making this Super Bee an enticing collector's item.
The 1970 Dodge Super Bee was touted as the budget supercar for the man who wants big-car performance at a small price. Its original base price was $3,074.
